Meijer Recalls Falls Creek Kids Denim Jeans Due to Choking Hazard

Falls Creek Kids cargo jeans

Meijer has voluntarily recalled Falls Creek Kids infant and toddler, boys and girls, denim jeans sold in sizes 12M-5T. The snap on the front of the infant and toddler denim jeans may come loose and separate from the fabric, posing a choking hazard to young children.

These are the jeans we got for FREE a few months back with the purchase of a gift card.

Falls Creek Kids infant and toddler, boys and girls, denim jeans were sold in sizes 12M-5T. “Falls Creek Kids” is printed on a tag sewn on the inside back of the waistband. The jeans are denim with or without a pink star or heart graphic design stitched on the outside front and back of the jeans. The jeans also were sold with cargo style pockets.

What you need to do:

Consumers should immediately stop using the denim jeans and bring them to the customer service desk at any Meijer or HEB store for a full refund.

Do you need tags or receipts? I have a few pair but no tags or receipts…

No, they should refund without tags or receipts.

  3. 3

I bought these jeans and have been sooo frustrated that the snap doesn’t stay closed! I’m pretty excited I didn’t get a dud but instead they’ll refund me!! Thanks for letting us know!!

I returned 2 pairs a couple of days ago (no tags or receipt) and got $17 and some change. I’m not complaining because they were free to me, but I’m wondering how they came up with that amount sine these retailed for over $10 each. The girl at the service desk didn’t know anything about the recall so maybe she returned them for current price ? Wondering how much was refunded to others.

I believe if you don’t have a receipt they will refund the lowest selling price in the past 30 days?. Correct me if I am wrong though?!

I returned a pair of these to the Alpine Ave. store on Sunday afternoon. The girl at customer service had to call a manager to ask what to do. They gave me the full $12 for them. According to her, the 30 day lowest selling price doesn’t apply to a recall. I’m not sure of an official rule, though.

We purchased $400 of gift cards in order to get these jeans free for our 2 year old. We got every size from about 2T to 5T in a couple different styles. We figured we wouldn’t have to buy him jeans for many years because of this deal. Sad to know that we should return them. I don’t want the cash, I want the jeans (quality ones). Can anyone else post how much they got via refund with and without a receipt? I still have the receipts showing that ours were worth $10 each.

I just returned mine today and the lady didn’t know anything about the recall either but she still refunded them without any proof.

If you have a receipt- use it because they will refund it for that amount. If you do not have a receipt then yes, its based on the price over the last 30 days. For example – I had 4 pairs but only had a receipt for 2 pairs. So the ones with a receipt I got back $9 each (what I had paid). The other two without a receipt I got $8 each for. Hope this helps!

I’m a little disappointed to because my guy really needed and was wearing those jeans! :( But I’m thankful for the heads up safety wise. :)

There is a label on the inside of the recalled jeans near the front left pocket that includes the date of production: 04/2012 and production location: Zhangjiagang, China.

Falls Creek Kids infant jeans with production code 4/2012 in sizes 0-3 mos, 3-6 mos or 6-9 mos. printed on a label on the inside of the back waistband are not included in the recall.

Here is a link to the website. You might want to print this out and take it with you in case your meijer doesn’t know about the recall.

  10. 11

Thanks for the heads up. Do you remember wherenu found it at,the recall that is.thanks

  11. 12

I tried to post a link to the cpsc website but this site is telling me that my comment needs moderation before it will post.

To find the actual recall go to Google and search for release #13-084
and then click the first link.

You might want to print this out and take it to the store with you in the event that the customer service doesn’t know about the recall.

  12. 13

The crazy thing is that I actually had this happen to a pair of the jeans that I’d bought! I just took them back & exchanged them!

I found the website that shows the actual recall.

I would suggest printing this out & taking it with you when you try to return them.

  13. 14

I bought this jeans but they’re size 6. Are those recalled also?

  14. 15

You can find the recall on the meijer website. It is at the bottom of the homepage, click on the small print area where it says “product recall”. You should be able to print it from there if needed.

I spoke to the retail manager of my local store today, he read the recall notice. he told me that he would refund me $12.99 for each pair. I told him I would prefer more jeans, but he said I could then use the money from the refund to buy more.

  16. 17

Okay, how are kids choking on jeans?

You’d think kids could be just as likely to choke on a couch as they would jeans?

  17. 18

Have 10 brand new pairs with tags still attached. Also have 10 receipts.

Local store manager said that she would only exchange them since I got them for free!!!! Wouldn’t even give me a in-store gift card for the 10 x $10 = $100 that I offered to take.

Store didn’t have ANY (not one) pair of 3t, 4t, or 5t jeans!

Going to another store in a minute and hopefully will have better luck. After all if I didn’t have my receipt they would have to rufund me the sale price in the past 30 days. right?????

  18. 19

One pair of jeans I had, the button actually did pop off and was unrepeatable. But the other 2 pairs have never been worn. I’m not sure if I should just keep them since I got them for free or take a chance that the button might pop off on those too. If I could exchange them I would do that.

I had better luck at a different Meijer. They gave me a Meijer gift card for the 10 pairs I returned (all with the tags still on them and unworn). Seems that without a receipt some pairs give $8.48 credit and others $12.00. Bottom line – don’t show your receipt if you have it!

We got ours at the “Buy a $25 GC get $10 off Falls Creek offer” like many of you.

Our son only wore 1 pair which we didn’t return. The snap button is getting loose, so maybe we will return them too.

If you want to buy some nice jeans today the Children’s Place has them for $9.99 (less 20% thru 1/7/13 only with online code P4K713 or instore code 055). That brings them down to $8.00 each. If you pay with your TCP card you get an additional 5% off which then is $7.50 each! We purchased 10 pais to replace the Meijer ones!

Here’s a link to the TCP coupon –

  21. 22

So can you exchange the jeans or do you have to get your money back? I have around 10 pairs as well and my son wears most of them… they need to be replaced with new ones!

  22. 23

They will probably offer to replace them, but we didn’t have luck finding ANY jeans – none at all. So take the refund and go to The Children’s Place they have jeans on sale for $9.99 and with their 20% off coupon you can find online you can get them for $8 bucks a pair (that’s what we did).
